3) What features of knowledge have an impact on its reliability?
I think the
reliability of my own knowledge holds a similar but less strict standard to
all facts, information, theories, and subjective understandings.
- They need to be supported by reliable and repeatable evidence (to the extent that I am not an expert in each field, I should listen to the consensus of experts).
- They need to not be ideological in nature beyond fact and reason. I need to make sure I can update and alter my understanding of something without it shaking my identity.
- They
need to withstand mental checks, such evidence that was biased by
logical fallacies or heuristics.
- They
likely need to fit coherently in a worldview that can stand up to
challenge and scrutiny.
